With Liverpool's transfer window due to open June 16th here's a look into the fast approaching summer window. Potential incomings, deals becoming closer & potential outgoings.
It's no secret that Liverpool FC intend on completing their very own regeneration project this summer with Arne Slot having only signed two players in Federico Chiesa & Giorgi Mamardashvili, and whilst only having one of them at his disposal, it's clear to see that staff within the club believe that Federico may not be up to the standard that is required to play for a club like Liverpool. Understand that his performance against Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup this season has set him back in the eyes of the staff. Which can be deemed unfairly due to a bad day all round for many of players on that pitch. With the incoming of Giorgi Mamardashvili, it can be expected that Caoimhin Kelleher will leave the club this summer alongside Federico Chiesa.
Giorgi Mamardashvili will be the first to officially become part of the "new look" Liverpool as he joins the club at midnight on June 15th. Others that could follow suit include Milos Kerkez, as we recently revealed that he had agreed to personal terms with Liverpool FC. It would be no surprise to see this case develop significantly in the coming weeks as Liverpool are being respectful to Bournemouth in their current pursuit of European football. This also plays into the cards of Dean Huijsen, with Liverpool leading the race for his signature amid interest from multiple Premier League clubs and also some abroad, including Real Madrid, who are only interested in him if he comes through as a free agent. Real Madrid can expect potential outgoings with Xabi Alonso due to takeover; Rodrygo is one to keep an eye on. Liverpool genuinely appreciate Rodrygo, and he's aware of their long-term interest. Rodrygo's preference would be a move to the Premier League, and Liverpool will absolutely be in the race for him. Liverpool's current frontline will face most of the changes this window, with both Luis Diaz & Darwin Nunez expected to leave the club this summer. Diaz will initiate contract talks once again with Liverpool, but it's hard to see where a resolution can come from if it didn't previously exist in December. Al Hilal has open dialogue with the club over a deal with Darwin Nunez, and they are ready to throw another monumental bid at the club in order to secure his services. Darwin would like to leave Liverpool for personal reasons. Throughout the course of this season, he has expressed twice that he no longer wants to be at the club. Diogo Jota is a situation that is covered in theory, his future isn't concrete, but a situation could arise where an appreciative offer comes in. He would be free to leave also.
Liverpool officially began talks with the representatives of Jeremie Frimpong earlier this week. Liverpool are in a position where they have done their groundwork throughout the year that allows them to take this time to explore the possibilities of certain candidates. Frimpong is admired by Arne Slot but it remains a mystery how he could fit the current system of the team, Which could explain the adamancy of Huijsen. Liverpool have a substantial list of potential defensive targets, including Miguel Gutiérrez, Lutsharel Geertruida & Wesley Franca. Other candidates have been linked and led to beleive that they would be on the shortlist. Talk of Murillo & Vanderson are wide of the mark, along with other suitors that include the names of Semenyo, Mbeumo & Hugo Ekitike. Although Liverpool enquired about Ekitike, they have since cooled their interest in the player, also Benjamin Sesko. Liverpool plan to ignite contract talks in an attempt to agree on a new long-term deal with both Ibrahima Konaté & Conor Bradley. Liverpool could look to avoid a similar situation to recent news with Konaté should they fail to reach an agreement. Which could explain the long list of defensive suitors this summer, Jorrel Hato among many ideal candidates who are versatile and a boyhood fan of the club. This file could easily accelerate this summer, although Liverpool face competition from Arsenal & Chelsea. In the long run, the club could also look to revisit a deal for Inter Milan's Alessandro Bastoni. Talks took place last summer, but Arne Slot requested to see what he was working with initially. There is genuine potential that all this talk of defensive targets is to distract rivals from possibly the biggest deal of the summer.
Last summer Liverpool's target for their ideal No. 6 was Martín Zubimendi. Liverpool have since cooled their interest in him as he looks set for a move to Real Madrid. Since then the club has done groundwork on a different file with the Excel of Ryan Gravenberch this season. Liverpool are firmly interested in Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton & Brighton's Carlos Baleba. Once again these files could easily accelerate rapidly as the season ends with Liverpool currently respecting their aims for glory. To assure they have done a significant amount of work into next season's target, Liverpool are in no way behind anyone in their pursuit of targets, with the name of Julian Alvarez believed to be a potential suitor should Liverpool miss out on Alexander Isak. Which, as time prevails, becomes less of a worry to convince the player more than the club on their price point.
